During my journey through the crazy world of food service, I have finally landed in a area i can actually stand. SALES! To be more specific Food Sales. It's not an area that I thought that I would ever really enjoy. But it turns out that yelling 4lbs of Salmon for $8.99 is actually fun.
I rally glad that there is an area of food service where I seem to excel or have the potential to any way. Oh and I have some advice for people in the super markets: Never pass up a good product. I may not be available for the same price in upcoming days or weeks. This especially true during the Holidays.
P.S Oh and don't get caught being one of those people: you know the people that grab, jab and stuff their faces and never buy product (yes samples are free, and in my case unlimited) . . . it's just not a good look. SMH.

Not Everyone Can be a Crafty
Over the last weekend I have experienced the food industry in a whole in light. Only instead of just the light a camera and action was involved. I never imagined that I would ever get the opportunity to be on a film set. I honestly thought I would have to move to either NY or LA in order to really be in the film industry. Now I know it is in fact possible to be in the business of movies without having to become an NYLA transplant.
What I also learned about the Craft Services field: Your the bottom wo(man) in the crew! My overall experience was not a positive one. I was in a area that is know to be really snobby. It didn't help that I was being insulted and having several passive aggressive jabs by the owner of the property. So as of now I have decided that while I enjoy the whole ideal of Craft Services, it's not meant to be for me! :( At least not at the moment.

Craft Services
So this weekend will be a first in my book. I have been given the opportunity to participate in the creation of a movie trailer. Okay, so I admit that my position on set is not that glamorous. And you may be wondering what this has to do with food! Well everything. It's official I am making my debut as a "Production Assistant" . . . that manages the craft service table (the place where celebs eat!). And I have business cards!
